Jet Set put to sleep after injury on Tokyo Olympics cross-country course

Sad news today from Tokyo with the sad loss of Jet Set, ridden by Swiss event rider Robin Godel, during the cross country stage Jet Set pulled up extremely lame, he was immediately checked by a vet on course and transferred to a horse ambulance who took Jet Set to the onsite veterinary clinic. Sadly after further examination it was found he had ligament rupture in the lower right limb which was irreparable and he was put to sleep in consultation with the owners and rider. We send our thought and wishes to all those involved and remember Jet Set as the fantastic horse which he was.

Jet Set is a horse who has competed at the top levels of the sport, previously ridden by Andrew Nicholson he won many competitions including the 2016 Bramham International Horse Trials, below you can watch Jet Set in the showjumping phase claiming victory.
